A season of disappointment is the place where God prepares you for what He has prepared for you.
James 1:2-4 says “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
You must recognize three truths about trials.
- Acknowledge that the trials are part of God’s plan. The trials you endure allow God to lead you to triumph.
- When you encounter a trial, stop trying to get out of the trial and start learning what God has ordained for you to learn from that trial.
- Understand that you are a work in progress. You can not see the overall picture. What feels like failure could be the means by which God blesses you beyond your wildest dream.
The purpose of trials is to make you strong enough to stay at a place of success when you get there.
