Gold & the Economy

Gold is one of the best gauges for determining the health of the current economy or other market cycles.

When people begin to see that the economy may not be doing well, you’ll see the price of gold start climbing because that is a ‘safe haven asset’ that people use to protect their money. When the health of the economy starts getting better and the outlook for the future starts improving, gold goes down because it is not a way to make money, it’s a way to protect money. People start moving those funds out of gold and putting them back in the stock market and other equities.
Let’s take a look at some specific examples:
One of the most important days in gold price history was when President Nixon detached the US dollar from the Gold Standard, 1971. Gold prices skyrocketed from $42 to $122 an ounce very quickly.
In 2009, the price of gold rose to $1,000. Less than two years later, it doubled.
On September 6, 2011, gold reached its record of $1,921 an ounce. Many variables contributed to this, including weak jobs reports, the lingering Eurozone debt crisis, and continued uncertainty around the US debt ceiling crisis. This led to the peak price of gold, $1,921.
In 2016, gold prices rose $100 an ounce in just six hours. This was due to the shocking Brexit vote, which led investors to panic. Prices rose from $1,254.96 at 4:00pm on June 23rd, which was the evening of the Brexit vote, to $1,347.12 by midnight. That’s because investors bought gold as a hedge against declining currencies such as the pound and the euro.
Market conditions play a huge role in determining when it’s a good time to buy gold or sell gold. We teach that in Safety Step: Protect Your Future, our online course about precious metals investing. You can learn how to use the market conditions in your favor. That is one of the most important factors when it comes to investing in gold and silver.

This will make you want to be an entrepreneur

he average American works for an employer. They are told when to work, how much they will be paid, and when they can spend time off with family. They have little control over their schedule. Entrepreneurs live by a different set of rules. They get to decide how long they spend at the office, how much money they get paid, and when they get to be with their families.

One of the main reasons people choose not to start a business is fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 states, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
What does it mean to have a spirit of power?
You are powerful. You have the opportunity to start something new in your life. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you have the ability to make business decisions and use your money to make more money. Many people worry that they do not have the resources needed to start a business, but you do not need much money to start a business. Steward your money according to Biblical teachings, and you can have success.
What does it mean to have a spirit of love?
Love is the choice to show affection or fondness. When you have a spirit of love in business, you have a passion to provide a quality product or service. You give of yourself to create or provide something for others, and God can bless that by growing your business.
What does it mean to have a sound mind?
God provides you with financial and business principles in the Bible. He also gives you the ability to read and understand His word. The Holy Spirit equips you with discernment. When you are a child of God, you can learn and understand what business choices are best for you. This understanding can lead you down the path of running a successful business.

Living for Jesus in Business

How can we honor God through business? For many people, business is only about making money. But for Christians it should be about something more. We need to learn to make money in business; it’s an important part of business. But how can we honor God through the process of business?

There are two major ways we can honor God through business:
Love the Lord
We are commanded to love the Lord with all our soul, heart, mind and strength. Whenever we are doing business, we have a certain level of fear. We’re taking risks and that may lead us to wonder “Will I make the bills? Will I have the things I need? Will the customers come? Will the marketing work out?” When all the things that we have to worry about as business owners come into play, we have to exercise a certain element of faith. That’s what Jesus loves about taking risks. He loves when we take a risk, because it shows Him that we’re risking our resources, risking our time, risking our money to show Him that we know He, ultimately, is in control. We will, with faith, take a business risk. As we take those business risks, we should connect to the Lord and allow Him to strengthen us. That’s loving the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
Love Others
We are commanded to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We have an opportunity to show God’s love to other people in our business dealings. God has put us in a position to help others with the products and services we provide. We should infuse God’s love into that process. Think about what the Lord did when He walked this earth. He lived in such a way that He provided a spiritual teaching to the people around him. But before He did that, He always met an earthly need. He healed the sick, He raised the dead, He fed the hungry. He did those things first, and it would grab people’s attention. It opened the door for Him to teach them about Himself and God’s Word. We should live the same way. We can make sure that we are providing quality products and services. As business owners, we have the ability to build relationships and show others the love of God.
To honor God in business, we must first love Him. We must put our faith in Him, follow Him, trust in Him. Then, we can love others. We can spread the gospel and point to God on a daily basis. God is the most important part of any Christian business.

Leverage the World to Create Wealth

Two questions many Christians have regarding building wealth in the stock market is, “How is building wealth in the stock market Biblical?” and “Why should we strive to build wealth through stock trading?” When they think of the stock market, greed and deception come to mind. We know, as Christians, we are told not to be conformed to this world, but the Bible also gives us examples of how to leverage the world to create wealth, and scripture lets us know why it’s important for Christians to build wealth. The God of the universe gave us a formula for how wealth is created and informs us on how to handle that wealth.

The How:
The concept is throughout the Bible, but one example is “The Parable of the Talents”. In this passage we learn about financial leverage in earning off the efforts of many other people, and that’s how wealth is created. TRADEway applies this biblical concept as we teach you how to leverage the people on Wall Street, some of the smartest minds in the world about money. You can leverage their mind. You can leverage their money. You can leverage their time. We teach you how to leverage the world to build potential wealth for your family.
The Why:
Matthew 5:14 states, “You, God’s children, are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.” We are supposed to be people of influence. Without wealth, we have very little influence in the world. If we are born again and in the Word of God, we are gaining wisdom, yet the world will not listen to us. In fact, it will despise us and our words won’t be heard. If we want to have influence in this world, we must create wealth, because the world values wealth.
If the enemy can place in our minds that we should be materially poor, what are we going to do as Christians? Scripture has been very clear. In order for us to be able to have influence, we must build wealth. We can leverage the world to create wealth that will, in turn, positively influence the world.

4 Ways To Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

There is not one believer who would say it’s not a good thing to trust God with our money. We’re supposed to trust God with our finances. But we cannot say we trust God with our money, then choose not to tithe.

There are various opinions on how much we should tithe. Some people believe it is a strict 10%, but others believe the principle is more about generosity. Wherever you land on that spectrum, we should be giving something back to God. If we can’t even give God a portion, a small part, on a regular basis, we are allowing our actions to express our true opinions. The idea that we need to “make more” before we can give is foolish. It does not follow the biblical principle God has established in HIs word.
There has to be an expression of faith when it comes to our money. If we want God to trust us with more, we need to trust Him with more first. If we expect to see increase, we must trust God. Tithing is one simple area in which we can show our trust in God.
